For this piece I decided to experiment with mixing watercolors and markers (on cold press watercolor paper). I began with a light graphite drawing, then I went ahead and painted the entire scene in watercolor. After that, I rendered over the painting with marker over areas that needed to be more saturated. This turned out pretty well and the marker didn't affect the under layer of watercolor, like I mentioned before, it helps punch up the colors. I finished the piece by adding dark outlines, with marker, around every main element of the scene.
